HEY!
Fantasuite calls for Robbie & Ryan to wear their new hot swim shorts. fishes and leaves. AW yeah. !!
Cathy - 4:00 PM
Thanks, Ryan P, in advance, for telling me the Tracey story. haha
Cathy - 1:36 PM
What's the deal with tracy? I really am curious??
Cathy - 1:19 PM
I can't wait for Robbie to pierce me with cupid's arrow! Do those come with the room?
;)
;)
Cathy - 12:58 PM
Yeah, we should ask them about pizza joe's when we get there. hhaa
Well, speaking of eating, I'm gonna go eat lunch. I'll be back in about 20 minutes. And you're gonna call west bend after 1:30 right?
yeah, a step up from don q. BUT, don q had BED and CHAIR shackles, this one only has WALL shackles. !! hahahahaa just kidding. scary thought.
Alright, I'll be back soon

p.s.- You get to eat a "pizza joe's" if you sleep in the medieval room!! haha
Cathy - 12:15 PM
Alright... I was debating between teepee and medieval castle. And Teepee says "waterbed" in the description. Sooo... I don't think I want a waterbed, do you?
I am going to go with castle - just because the room is so well-decorated and it just looks like a cool place to hang out in. And the whirlpool is off to the side and it seems nice and private. :) I want one of those big whirlpools like that anyway. So I will go with castle. Is that good with you?? anything you wanna add/subtract to my analysis?

Cathy - 4:40 PM
HAHAHa, that's really funny. I didn't ever hear about that. Ol' Bobby Williams... he is black and they're making it like he was fired because msu is racist. I just stay out of it. football is for losers! fantasuite is for winners!! :)
Cathy - 4:18 PM
That means Pharoh's chambers, spanish villa and suite valentine are TAKEN. Awww, no suite valentine. Looks like I'll be staying home. :(
Cathy - 4:08 PM

Cathy - 3:54 PM
I just called the west bend inn and they don't have different rates for thanksgiving weekend with fantasuites. :) good ol' 1-800 numbers
Cathy - 3:45 PM
Oh yeah, and we should see if they have an "extra charge that may apply to holidays" for thanksgiving weekend. that might happen, too. :(
Cathy - 3:28 PM
I went to 3 different map sites, and I got so many different estimations. West Bend is 343 miles to 356 miles away from lansing and it could take 5hours 46 mins to 6hrs 55mins! those sites seem unreliable. But ehhh whatever.
Hey rob, pearl under the sea is in the expensive range. :( But yeah, the others are good. We will look more in depth at the website this weekend. sound good?
Bottle Rocket was a good movie.

After exploring the room themes of west bend, this is my synopsis:
best suites:
Continental, Le Cave, Medieval Castle, Northern Lights, Teepee and maybe Spanish Villa.
Spanish Villa is really huge, they have 2 panoramic shows for that one, same with Teepee.
Also, I want one with a giant whirlpool. The ones with the giant whirlpool are Le Cave, Medieval Castle, Northern Lights, Pharoh's Chambers, Space Odyssey, Teepee.
so I guess that narrows my choices down to le cave, medieval castle, northern lights and teepee. Rob? What are your choices?
Hey, and a side note, check out the stupid photo they have on Wild West. There are two pictures for that one, and the one on the bottom is really stupid of two country hick dudes.

I don't know if I should ask this now, but the weekend before thanksgiving in USA is when Quintron, miss pussycat and stereo total will be in detroit. did anyone besides rob want to go? Or maybe we will think about fantasuite first...
Cathy - 2:23 PM
I have Thursday and Friday off that weekend. But I assume you guys don't get those off, and Rob definitely doesn't get them off. But, I'd be down with it. However, what about Marian? This is very short notice...??
As far as it being American Thanksgiving, the only trouble we will have with that is TRAFFIC. And it is possible that there will be more people at the hotel. But with my personal situation on t-day, don't worry. I think I'll have dinner with my dad thursday night and that will be the extent of it. :) But we do have to remember the traffic, especially if we go through chicago, is gonna be really bad. It might slow us down a couple hours, even.
But yeah, I'm down with West Bend. I didn't realize West Bend was cheaper. Time to look at the room themes again...

Hey,
I was looking at the greenwood one and they don't have a swimming pool. and they're panoramics aren't of the actual rooms. So I don't wanna go there. NEvermind
But the west bend one has a far better selection than any of them. There's a whole bunch of crazy ones we can chose from in west bend.... Now I don't know what I wanna do... I love the don Q. But west bend rooms look cooler. But don Q is cooler in general. what do you think?

Cathy - 12:08 PM
Yeah, I'd go with Sherwood forest or jungle safari, too. After looking at sherwood again, I am liking it more. Yeah, some of the panoramas are a little different looking. I think the panoramas are the actual Don Q rooms where the pictures could be from any fantasuite hotel. In fact, I think it says somewhere on the page that the pictures might be different slightly than the actual suite. But the panoramas, I think, are the real deal.
Yeah, the west bend pool and bar were really awesome, and hopefully we'd have the place to ourselves again. Don Q is awesomer I think, but if we can't get the right suites, I'd settle for west bend. However, did anyone look at greenwood indiana? it's even closer and it looks pretty good. I'm gonna go have another look. that would just be an alternative to don Q, which my definite first choice.

Here's what I think about the Tier 2 suites after viewing the panoramic shows on each:
Casino Royale - really cool! all red and black and sexy. looks like a bigger suite. The bed looks like a card. I like this one a lot.
here's what don Q has to say:
Atlantic City and Vegas are your fantasy getaway, then this rich red and black escape from reality is your winning hand! A queen-size bed with lighted and mirrored headboard shares the spotlight with the walk-up whirlpool surrounded by mirrors. AM/FM stereo.
Cupid's Corner - I think this is lamest one. Though it looks cool, it's all red and decked out with hearts everywhere. but it looks big inside. I guess it would do... but there are better ones.
Here's Don Q's opinion:
A black marble whirlpool and heart shaped waterbed with mirrored ceiling and AM/FM stereo set the mood for this romantic rendezvous.
Indian Summer: looks cozy, kinda retro-y. Like sleep-in-a-wigwam, it's got a giant teepee door and everything looks kinda dark. but it seems pretty big inside.
Here's Don Q's synopsis:
Your bed is cozy inside this modern day wigwam. A large, tiled whirlpool surrounded by murals of the American West sets the mood for this pioneer adventure. AM/FM stereo.
They didn't have anything on Enchanted Vista...
Next up is Jungle Safari - I like this one a lot, too. it's got bamboo walls around the bed and looks tiki-ish. the whirlpool looks really big, but maybe that's just the photo. the bathroom looks a little more private than the others. I like it!!
Don Q's ideas: Escape into a custom made thatched jungle hut. Enjoy the sights of the wilderness from your private whirlpool hidden deep in the banks of a jungle stream.
And lastly is Sherwood Forest - there are stairs in this one, which is cool. Stairs on the whirlpool and stairs in the actual room. there are mirrors around the whirlpool. it looks nice and big. I just think it's too dark-looking for my taste, everything is dark blue. But there are leaves and trees everywhere, which is cool.
here's don q - The magic of the forest surrounds you as you relax in a bed nestled among the trunks of real trees. This suite also features a secluded forest-setting whirlpool.
So there you have it. I think I like Casino Royale and Jungle Safari the best. And second best I like Sherwood Forest and Indian Summer. Last is Cupid's Corner. And I wish they had a picture of Enchanted Vista, but they don't. Maybe we can request a picture from Don Q or something???
Alright, theyr'e kicking me out of the computer lab. C-ya.

So, if you go to the "rates" section on the don Q page, you will see which rooms fall under which category. Here's the lowdown:
The ones we can afford are Tier 1 and Tier 2 suites. For $25 more, are the other ones that you were mentioning.
So, the Tier 3 (the coolest ones) are $224. They are:
Arabian Nights
Caesar's Court
Le Cave
Northern Lights
The Steeple
Traquility Base
Up, Up & Away
And that rate is on Friday and Saturday only. it's cheaper if you stay on other days. But I am assuming we're staying on Saturday night? So $224 is a lot for those...
So the cheap ones (Tier 1), which are only $125 Fri & Sat are:
Blue Room
Don's Den
The Float
Maggie's Place
Mid-Evil (the one Rob & I stayed at last time)
Shotgun
South Seas (they don't have a picture of this one..??)
The Swinger
But I was thinking we'd stay at the Tier 2 level, which is $199 Fri & Sat. These suites are:
Casino Royale
Cupid's Corner
Enchanted Vista (no picture on this one either)
Indian Summer
Jungle Safari
Sherwood Forest
So that is the lowdown on the rooms and prices for a Saturday night. It's expensive. But it's worth it.
Now I'm gonna go look at the site and pick out the ones I like. :)

Yeah, those are the coolest suites, but they are like a million dollars! We should stick to the $199 ones. Unless you are willing to pay a million dollars, then we should stick to the other ones.
Besides, we still get to go to the restaurant, the bar, the swimming pool with the indoor/outdoor corridor, the underground tunnel, the lounge, the giant fireplace with the barber chairs in the lobby, the hot tub by the pool, we can explore all over the place - that's the fun part! The rooms are just the 2nd best part of the Don Q Inn!
So yeah! let's book it! Robbie, we need to talk about what suite we want. I had some ideas but I forgot. I'll be back on here in an hour with my opnions on that. Meanwhile, you pick out which ones you guys want, too, so we can come to a conclusion. They'll ask for that info when we book it so we gotta decide now. :)

Oh, and Robbie - no falling asleep early! ;)
Cathy - 2:18 PM
I don't care where we go, as long as it's fantasuite.
Cathy - 2:15 PM
I hope you get it off, marian
And Don Q isn't fucked, it's awesome. they have three "tiers" of fantasuites. ultra cheap ones, cool ones and then ultra cool ones that only honeymooners would spend the money on, as far as I'm concerned. We could go to the just cool ones. those are something like $199 or $179 for the weekend.
Everyone should go to fantasuite.com and look at don Q Inn in dodgeville and see how cool it. then look at the one in greenwood indiana, since it is the closest one. do we want less driving into uncharted territory or do we want a couple hours more of driving into SURE COOL territory? I bet there won't be hardly ANYONE at Don Q in december. we might even have the place to ourselves again!

Yeah, they work fine on my computer too.
So, I was looking at the rates, and they're all about the same for the weekend. something like $179 for the average fantasuites, and $199 for the really cool ones. They're all pretty much the same for the weekends.
The only one that is cheaper than that is dodgeville, which is $125 for a fri&sat reservation of the least exciting fantasuites they have. Do we want cheap or do we want excitement?
And you know what else, I hate to say this ahead of time like a spoiled brat, but I'm pretty sure if I told my dad that this is what I wanted for my birthday, he would chip in for a large part of the bill... daddy's girl.. but yeah... I am pretty sure he would... :)

Also, Greenwood Indiana has a fantasuite that we haven't been to and it's only 4hrs, 54 mins away from lansing. Just throwin that out...
Cathy - 1:25 PM
I just checked out dodgeville - 406 miles away from lansing. which is 6 hours, 15 minutes. That is less time than Cave City, which was like 8 hours. sooooo??????? Don Q Inn????? That's my vote!
Cathy - 1:12 PM
I'm totally down!!! What about Dodgeville?? Is that just another hour? I think it'd be worth it to go to dodgeville for the extra hour or whatever it takes. Don Q Inn is so fucking awesome. West bend was cool, too, but if it's not that much more trouble, we should go to dodgville. BUT, if it is a lot of trouble, I'm totally down with west bend!!! yeah!!!!
